"Set for Dinner"
I completed this painting in one afternoon, thinking at the time it was a beginning composition that I'd come back to later. Over the next month I kept looking at it, and eventually realized I didn't want to touch it. It was done. The image is from my stepfather and mother's cottage at Christmas Cove, where I've enjoyed many good times and delicious meals. Close to the heart, so I'm keeping it!
Sketches for commission work
These are two of several pairs of sketches done in preparation for a pair of commissioned paintings. They're from photos I took last fall of an orchard I drive by daily in Pownal; the scene changes constantly with the light and changing seasons.
